In this thesis various plasmonic materials, such as hyperbolic metamaterial nanohole arrays and Au-coated free standing nanoassembly supporting nanopores, are investigated with the aim to perform optical sensing of DNA molecules with Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy in flow-through configuration.
