The work of developing International Standards is carried out through Iso Technical Committees. Every Member Body interested in a subject for which a Technical Committee has been set up has the right to be represented on that Committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmentai, in liaison with IsO, also take part in the work. Draft International Standards adopted by the Technical Committees are circulated to the Member Bodies for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by the IsO Councit. Prior to 1972, the results of the work of the Technical Committees were published as Iso Recommendations; these documents' are now in the process of being Committee ISO/TC 82 has reviewed ISO Recommendation R 710/11 and found it suitable for transformation. International Standard ISO 710/ll therefore replaces 1SO Recommendation R 710/11-1968. ISO Recommendation R 710/ll was approved by the Member Bodies of the following countries : Greece Poland Belgium Hungary Portugal Brazil Chile India South Africa, Rep. of Czechoslovakia Italy Spain Egypt, Arab Rep. of Sweden Japan France Turkey Korea, Rep. of Germany Netherlands U.S.S.R. The Member Bodies of the following countries expressed disapproval of the Recommendation on technical grounds : New Zealand* Yugoslavia The Member Body of the following country disapproved the transformation of ISO/R 710/l into an internationat Standard : Poland geological cross-sections include : Part I : General rules of representation. The boxes at the intersection of a basic type sedimentary rocks on detailed maps, plans and geological (horizontal line) and of the same character (vertical cross-sections. column) are left white and are emphasized by a diagonal.
